Aspect ratio calculator

Pick the ratio you need and get two things: the standard export size, and the largest centred crop that fits your source without stretching it. Handy for reframing a landscape clip to vertical for TikTok, or a wide shot to square for feed.

Everything runs in your browser, nothing is uploaded. Once you have the crop, apply it in your editor and export at the standard size shown.

Export at
1080 × 1920
Standard 9:16 render size
Crop your source to
608 × 1080
Largest centred crop (trims the sides), ~68% trimmed. Source ratio 16:9.

Frequently asked questions

What size is a TikTok, Reel or Short?

9:16 vertical at 1080 × 1920. That single export covers TikTok, Instagram and Facebook Reels, and YouTube Shorts. Pick 9:16 above to see the crop from your source footage.

How do I crop a video to a different ratio?

Set your source dimensions and target ratio here to get the largest centred crop that fits without stretching. In your editor, apply that crop, then export at the standard size for the ratio. Nothing is distorted, you only trim the edges.

Will cropping lose quality?

Cropping removes pixels from the edges, so the framed area is smaller than the original. As long as your source resolution is higher than the export size, the result stays sharp. Cropping a 4K clip to 1080p vertical, for example, has plenty of resolution to spare.
