Content Protection & Takedown Policy

FileFlippers Limited ("FileFlippers™", "we") respects the intellectual property rights of others. This policy explains how we handle claims of copyright infringement and requests for content removal.

1. Our Principles

• We run automated security scanning on uploads: malware detection (files up to 2 GB), and automated CSAM hash-matching at our content-delivery layer. We do not manually review or monitor file contents.
• We respond promptly and seriously to valid takedown requests.
• We balance the rights of copyright holders with the rights of our users.
• We comply with applicable UK law, including the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 and the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002.

2. Reporting Copyright Infringement

If you believe that Content on the Platform infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown notice to:

Your notice must include:

1. Identification of the copyrighted work(s) you claim have been infringed.
2. Identification of the Content on the Platform that you claim is infringing, with sufficient detail for us to locate it (e.g. transfer URL, file reference).
3. Your contact information — name, email address, and postal address.
4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the Content is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
5. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on their behalf.
6. Your signature (electronic signature is acceptable).

3. Our Response

Upon receiving a valid takedown notice, we will:

3.1. Acknowledge receipt within 2 business days.

3.2. Review the notice and, if valid, disable access to or remove the identified Content promptly (typically within 5 business days).

3.3. Notify the user who uploaded the Content (where possible and where not prohibited by law), informing them of the takedown and providing them with the opportunity to respond.

4. Counter-Notices

If you believe your Content was removed in error or is not infringing, you may submit a counter-notice to legal@fileflippers.com containing:

1. Identification of the Content that was removed and its location before removal.
2. A statement that you genuinely believe, in good faith, that the Content was removed by mistake or misidentification, and that the information in your counter-notice is true and accurate.
3. Your name, address, and contact details.
4. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales for any dispute.

Upon receiving a valid counter-notice, we may restore the Content within 10 business days unless the original complainant notifies us that they have filed a court action.

5. Repeat Infringers

We may terminate the Accounts of users who are found to be repeat infringers. We define a repeat infringer as a user who has been the subject of three or more valid takedown notices.

6. Other Unlawful Content

For reports of Content that is unlawful but not a copyright matter (e.g. CSAM, terrorism content, non-consensual imagery), please contact moderation@fileflippers.com. See our Acceptable Use Policy for details on prohibited Content.
