White Label lets your recipients land on your domain (like flip.yourstudio.com) instead of ours. Nothing of ours in sight, just your brand.
To make that work, you add two small records at your domain provider. Think of them as a signpost that tells the internet "traffic for this address should come to FileFlippers." You add them once and you're done.
You'll copy two records straight from the White Label card in your dashboard (Branding → Custom Link). This guide walks you through where to paste them.
Before you start: decide the exact web address you want, e.g. flip.yourstudio.com or files.yourstudio.com. It has to be a domain you already own. Enter it in the White Label card first, and the card then shows you the two records to add.
1. Find where your DNS lives
Your "DNS provider" is wherever you manage your domain. Usually it's whoever you bought the domain from. Common ones:
- GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains / Squarespace Domains, 123 Reg, Ionos
- Cloudflare (if you moved your domain there)
- Your website builder — Squarespace, Wix, Shopify, Webflow
Log in there and look for a section called DNS, DNS Records, DNS Management, or Advanced DNS. That's where you'll add the two records.
Not sure who that is? Whoever emails you about renewing the domain is almost always the answer. If someone built your site for you, it might be them. Forward this guide to them and they'll know exactly what to do.
2. Add the CNAME record
A CNAME record points one address at another. This is the record that actually sends visitors to us. In your DNS provider, add a new record with these values (copy them from the White Label card so they're exact):
Some providers want just flip in the Name field, others want the full flip.yourstudio.com. Either way, the card in your dashboard shows the full address so you can match it.
3. Add the TXT record
The TXT record proves you own the domain and lets us set up the padlock (SSL certificate) automatically. Add a second record:
Copy both straight from the White Label card. The value is unique to your domain, so there's nothing to memorise or type by hand.
The proxy / grey-cloud setting
If your DNS is on Cloudflare: when you add the CNAME, Cloudflare shows an orange cloud next to it labelled "Proxied." Click it once so it turns grey and says "DNS only." This one step is the single most common reason a domain won't connect, so it's worth double-checking.
If your DNS is anywhere else (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Squarespace, and most others): there's no such setting. Just add the record as-is and move on. This note doesn't apply to you.
4. Come back and check status
Once both records are saved, come back to the White Label card in your dashboard and click Check status. DNS changes can take a few minutes to spread across the internet, sometimes up to an hour and occasionally longer. If it's not ready on the first try, give it a little while and check again.
When it flips to Live, you're done. The padlock (SSL) is set up for you automatically, and every download link you create from then on uses your domain.
Provider-specific steps
The idea is the same everywhere: add a CNAME and a TXT record. Here's where the button lives in the most common providers.
GoDaddy
- My Products → find your domain → DNS / Manage DNS
- Under "Records," click Add
- Choose type CNAME, fill in Name and Value, Save. Repeat for the TXT record.
Namecheap
- Domain List → Manage → Advanced DNS
- "Add New Record" → CNAME Record → fill in Host and Value, save the green tick
- Add a second record for TXT the same way
Cloudflare
- Select your domain → DNS → Records → Add record
- CNAME, fill in Name and Target
- Set Proxy status to "DNS only" (grey cloud). See the note above
- Save, then add the TXT record the same way
Squarespace / Google Domains
- Settings → Domains → your domain → DNS Settings
- Under "Custom Records," add a CNAME and a TXT record
Using something not listed? The steps are the same. Find "DNS records," add a CNAME and a TXT, and paste in the values from your dashboard. If you get stuck, email support@fileflippers.com with your provider's name and we'll point you to the right button.
Troubleshooting
Still "Waiting for DNS" after an hour? The usual causes:
- On Cloudflare, the CNAME is still orange (Proxied). Set it to grey / "DNS only". This is the #1 cause.
- A typo in the record. Copy the values again straight from the dashboard card rather than typing them.
- Wrong Name field. Make sure the record is on the exact address you entered (e.g. flip), not the bare domain.
- It just needs longer. Some providers are slow to publish changes. Give it a bit and click Check status again.
